Logos are an important part of every company. They represent a brand’s identity and trigger recognition. When PillowGrace was just starting out, creating a strong, recognizable logo to represent who we are was crucial for Julie. We were able to come up with a design that holds deep meaning to who we are as a company, what we believe, and what we stand for. Follow along as we take you behind the design of the PillowGrace logo.
Alpha & Omega
The outer circle symbolizes God as the alpha and omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end (Revelation 22:13).
Crown for The King of Kings
The simple crown at the top of our logo represents Christ’s reign as the King of Kings (Revelation 19:16). It also stands for His glory being the top priority of our business.
The Crown of Thorns
The outer border represents Jesus’ crown of thorns. What was intended to make a mockery of Jesus (Matthew 27:29) has become a symbol of who He is and what he came to accomplish – the King, represented by the crown, who delivered us from the curse of sin, represented by the thorns (Hebrews 2:9).
Drops of Blood
The small dots within the crown of thorns represent Christ’s drops of blood shed for you and me (Ephesians 1:7). There are 16 drops to represent the 16 characteristics of love that God has and wants us to have as well (1 Corinthians 13:4-8) because God is love (1 John 4:8).
The Sword of the Spirit
The sword through the center of our logo represents the Sword of the Spirit, the word of God (Ephesians 6:17). We believe the word of God is alive and active, and sharper than any double-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). The sword is piercing through the center of the logo, representing how Christ was pierced for our transgressions (Isaiah 53:5).
Grace
The G in the center stands for grace in PillowGrace, the most important part of our name. The power isn’t in the pillow, it’s in the grace. We were saved by grace when God mercifully gave us new life through Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8) and God’s grace is all we need (2 Corinthians 12:9).
The #3
We chose three thorns on each side because three carries such significance in the Bible. First and foremost, it represents the Trinity. It is also the number of the resurrection. Jesus was 33 years old when he died; he was crucified in the 3rd hour of the day; and he rose from the dead after 3 days.
East and West
The larger thorns point East and West to symbolize Jesus removing all of our transgressions as far as the East is from the West (Psalm 103:12).
We give thanks to the Lord for all He has allowed us to accomplish and the lives He has allowed us to touch through PillowGrace. All we do is to honor His glory!
